Tartaro

Tartaro

In the Basque folklore of Spain, Tartaro is a Cyclopian being described as a giant with one in the middle of his forehead. However, in some stories, he becomes a grotesque animal, misshapen and vindictive. In most of the stories told about him, however, his victims easily outwit him.

John and Caitlin Matthews, The Element Encyclopaedia of Magical Creatures, 2013, Tartaro, p 457
