Diff Errebi

Diff Errebi

This is the polite name of giant Djinn in the folk traditions of the Moroccan people. As in many other cultures it was considered unlucky to address any otherworldly being by its true name hence Diff Errebi, which means Noble One was used as a way of currying favour with this volatile being, who could be both unpleasant and savage if one got on the wrong side of him.

John and Caitlin Matthews, The Element Encyclopaedia of Magical Creatures, 2013, Diff Errebi, p 133
