Big Owl

Big Owl

Among the Apache people of North America, the big owl is a cannibalistic monster and like the basilisk, it can petrify its victims with its glance. Among the Lipan Indians, Big Owl is a giant son of the sun who tries to marry the daughter of the hero in order to kill him. The White Mountains Apache believe Big Owl tried to kill all the created people but it was killed by its own brother.
